Why I Help Companies Develop Leaders

The real reason I help companies develop leaders and build leadership dream teams…

I was sitting in the sunroom watching my kids play outside.

It was 2008 & I was at a crossroads in my career. A single mom at the time – and the economy had taken a swift downturn. There I sat pondering my path and working on my personal mission statement.

Finally, after thinking, praying and scribbling pages of notes, I wrote this note to myself: “I believe God is calling me to equip, encourage & empower others to be their best & reach their full potential.”

Then…I laughed…literally out loud.

Great personal mission statement…but who was going to PAY me to do that?

But I decided to cast that vision for myself and kept the faith that this was indeed the next step for me.

I believed there was unlimited potential and possibilities in the marketplace when people, employees and leaders alike, are passionate about who they are, what they do and are able to make their highest contribution.

But I wasn’t sure how I was going to connect the dots between my personal mission and the need I saw in organizations.

A few days later I spoke with a colleague from my days in the healthcare industry & discovered how executive development through coaching was preparing him to move from COO to CEO of a hospital system.

A lightbulb went off in my mind.

That was the missing HOW to my personal mission!

Through this realization, coupled with my HR background, years of business & leadership experience AND my passion for helping people grow, Executive Impact was born.

For the last 12+ years, we’ve partnered with companies to develop leaders and build leadership dream teams.

Yes, we look at an organization’s vision/mission/goals. But we also dive into the WHO of the leaders & how they influence others and work together as a team.

Whether you’re a CEO, VP, manager or employee, when you can bring the best version of yourself to your work, it creates a positive ripple effect throughout the organization.

Because, at the end of the day, we’re all humans searching for purpose and meaning.

As leaders, it’s both a privilege and a responsibility to inspire others & to make a positive difference in the lives we touch and the organizations we serve.

I love the quote by John Quincy Adams: “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
