3 Key Steps to Re-Envision Your Team’s Potential
When we’re in CRISIS, we’re forced to pay attention to what isn’t working and fix it right away as a matter of sheer survival.
But what if we didn’t have to be in a crisis mode to create transformation?
Unfortunately, many leaders are so busy, inundated with initiatives, projects, tasks on a day-to-day basis…
…that they don’t invest the time to really think, dream and envision how to truly MAKE THINGS BETTER for their team, even though they’d often like to.
That means that planning for the future, making improvements, and taking the “next steps” often happen as a matter of necessity (when something “breaks”) rather than as a part of an intentional “dreaming” process.
But how much better is it for leaders and for their teams to be PROACTIVE, rather than REACTIVE?
Here’s the 3-step exercise that you can use!
(1) Suspend any practical ideas around what’s possible
Let go of any limitations, or “I can’t do this because of that” thoughts. We can come back to them later, but for now, no constraints:
✖️ of logic
✖️ what’s cost-effective
✖️ what’s time-efficient
✖️ what seems possible or impossible
(2) Ask yourself questions such as:
❔ What do I really want for my organization?
❔ What could be better for our clients?
❔ What could be better for my team? For me as a leader?
❔ What would be more meaningful for my sphere of influence and community?
❔ What would I change if I could change anything?
❔ What would thinking outside of the box look and feel like?
(3) Create your dream list!
💡This exercise can inspire you to get excited again about possibilities.
May it spark creativity that wouldn’t show up unless you stepped out of your current limitations long enough to get a glimpse of the future you want to create.
As a leader, you can be the architect of possibilities for your team and organization. . . so dream big!🎉
