Becoming a Better Leader Makes Us A Better Spouse & Parent

I often joke that our leadership & teamwork principles must work if my husband & I can remain happily married AND work together in our business everyday!

Marriage & parenthood, like anything worthwhile, require commitment & a willingness to grow & adapt.

One of the joys of our work is watching leaders not only implement what they learn with their team but also in their personal lives, like:

-an employee who learned to shift his communication style & improved his relationship with his daughters
-a leader who improved his marriage by practicing the coach approach to listening

The coach approach principles we teach and live by at Executive Impact have helped Jeremy & me:

-Identify when our natural wiring is an asset vs. a liability
-Work through conflict with openness & curiosity
-Communicate the truth with honesty & giving grace when needed
-Take 100% ownership of our 50% of the relationship

We leverage our strengths & own our “stuff” when it comes up…AND we’ve been blessed to watch our (now adult) children learn to do the same.

Of course, we’re not perfect. But without the principles we’ve learned, practiced & taught through our coaching journey, I know I wouldn’t be the parent & partner I am today.
