When leadership silence becomes acceptance. Are you tolerating highly reactive leaders?
I recently witnessed 2 different companies lose VERY TALENTED PROFESSIONALS from their team. And both were a direct result of ineffective leadership (aka ‘bad boss behavior’).
These companies are both committed to excellence, growth, and profitability. AND care about their employees.
Yet BOTH delayed addressing ineffective, reactive leader behavior.
And it COST them.
Not only in the loss of two talented industry professionals but also:
– in lost hours of onboarding, training & technical expertise
– hours it will NOW take to attract, interview, onboard, train & integrate a NEW employee
– PLUS manage the workload with ‘very maxed out & disappointed’ team members who are fully aware of what they’ve lost.
The reason I’m sharing this?
As a reminder…
You can’t afford to ignore or delay addressing ineffective, highly reactive leaders.
It may APPEAR these leaders are getting results (and they may be in the short term), but it will cost you significantly in the long run.
Your silence becomes acceptance. Don’t let unwanted turnover happen to you.
Be proactive in addressing leadership styles that are not in alignment with the company culture you want to create.
