As a leader, are you an architect of possibilities?

As leaders, we should be the architect of possibilities.

It’s our responsibility to not only focus on where we’re headed as an organization, but also to creatively envision the POTENTIAL in our business & our people.

To do this, it is important to step back from the busy day-to-day & take time to think, dream & explore what might be possible.

And to challenge ourselves with great quality questions (because the quality of the question we ask ourselves as leaders determines the quality of the answers we come up with).

To get you started, here are a few questions to play around with:

-Given all of the changes over the last year, what business are we really in today?
-What’s a specific challenge in our industry that no one else has solved?
-What do our clients/customers need or want that they don’t even realize? (I love this Steve Jobs question!)
-If there were no limitations, what would be possible for me as a leader? For my team? The organization?
-What questions should we be asking that no one else is asking?
-What’s working? Not working? Missing? Broken?

Becoming the architect of possibilities requires practice & is an important part of being a creative, outcome-focused leader.

What are other questions do you recommend asking to become an architect of possibilities?
