I Don’t Have Enough Time

How telling yourself and others “I don’t have enough TIME” is sabotaging your results and credibility…

Do you often think or say things like…

* “I don’t have enough time.”

* “I just can’t get everything done.”

* “There are not enough hours in the day.”

If so, time is NOT the issue. Your MINDSET and SKILLSET around time are…

Yes – there are absolutely reasons and seasons where your schedule may be busier and more demanding than usual.

But a pattern of living and working this way continually is a symptom of a much deeper issue.

As a leader, you are influencing others to live/work the way you do…you’re setting the standard for your employees, your peers, and, even more importantly – your spouse, children, and friends.

Having the mindset of ‘not enough time’, and feeling like you have to work 24/7 to keep up, traps you in a scarcity/reactive loop where you unknowingly become the ‘victim’ of a perceived lack of time.

The loop continues and you start to think you don’t have enough in general – not enough:

*knowledge
*resources
*talented people, etc.

Problems begin to feel too big to solve or you begin to feel the pressure to solve them on your own.

Or, worse yet, you become more aggressive in driving others to solve the problems.

As a leader, you must break the cycle.

The bottom line is that we all have the same 24 hours/day.

It’s up to you to take ownership & accountability for how you invest, leverage, or waste that time.

Leaders who understand & own this truth are able to:

*breakthrough the noise of overwhelm,
*fully own their 24 hours…and
*make intentional choices about what & how they invest their time…

…so they thrive at work & in their personal lives.

With The Coach Approach to Leadership™, we help to bridge this gap by equipping leaders to:

-Clearly define the desired, big picture

-Set strategic goals & plans that align with the big picture

-Define high vs low pay off activities

-Build their bench by delegating low payoff activities

As a leader, the buck stops with you.

Set the goal to operate in your high payoff activities at least 75% of the time while at work and intentionally carve out time to create a healthy work/life balance in your personal life (and yes that definition varies slightly for each leader).

Only then can you inspire your teams, and others you influence, to best leverage THEIR time.

***Remember, more is caught than taught.***
